Happy Day by Dana Tatar

Hi! Dana here today sharing the layout I created for the Berry71Bleu May "Simple Pleasures" Challenge, which is sponsored by Molossi. I have a large flowering tree in my front yard that looks and smells amazing right now. I love to site on my front porch, in the shade of this gorgeous tree, and drink a cup of coffee while I read. The flowers smell divine and I can usually hear the birds singing and bees buzzing. I try to take a small timeout during the day to just relax and recharge outside.

The pink flowers from the Darkroom Door Bright Blossoms Montage were the perfect supplement to the large photo that I took. I tucked them into my floral clusters, beautiful Manor House Creations flowers.

I added a sentiment to my photo that I cut from the Darkroom Door Venetian Wordstrips.

I built my layout on a background that includes some of my favorite things; stamping, texture paste, hand-dyed ribbon, letters, book pages, and Molossi Sticky Bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'll be back next month sharing a fun altered project!

Be Card by Dana Tatar - May Mood Board Challenge

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing a card that I created for the Molossi May Mood Board Challenge. I used a piece of Kaisercraft patterned paper, Manor House Creations flowers and Dylusions Ink Spray.

I covered this gorgeous piece of Molossi Chipboard with embossing powder. I think "Be" is a great word to have on the front of this card. When I do give this card to someone special, it will be easy to personalize the message further on the inside of the card.

I'm always on the lookout for orange rhinestones. I embellished this butterfly with Molossi Sticky Bling.

We want to see how this mood board, designed by the talented Rikki Graziani, inspires you! Entries for this challenge are due May 31, 2014.

ANYONE CAN ENTER!

We accept scrapbook layouts and canvases. We also accept art journal double spread pages or single art journal pages, along with cards and off-the-page creations. We do not accept digital entries, ATCs, or tags.

Please create unique entries for this Mood Board Challenge. Entries must not be submitted for any other online challenges and they are not to be combined with other challenges.

EASTER PHOTO CAROUSEL BY DANA

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing an Easter themed home decor piece. I started with a Dusty Attic Photo Carousel and embellished it with colorful patterned paper, Manor House Creations Flowers, Molossi Sticky Bling and some Easter decorations.

This is what the Dusty Attic Photo Carousel looks like assembled and unaltered. The entire piece spins 360 degrees. The two lattice pieces are stationary. The four solid panels (two are shown above) spin 360 degress.

I colored the top and bottom pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Stain. When I think about Easter, the first things that come to mind are white bonnets and baskets, so I colored the two lattice pieces with a White Acrylic Paint Dabber. I set these pieces aside to dry overnight. Note: I left the 4 spinning panels natural because they will be covered with patterned paper.

I colored some Manor House Creations Teeny Weenies Roses with Bubblegum Pink, London Blue, Lemon Zest and Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions Ink Spray.

I cut patterned paper to fit the rotating panels. I embellished 4 panels with photos of my daughters and 4 panels with vintage Easter themed clip art. I added Manor House Creations Flowers and some Easter themed embellishments from my personal stash. I finished each patterned panel with stitching and and a Viva Decor Creme Pearl Pen.

Here are the four photo panels on the assembled carousel.

Rotating each panel 180 degrees reveals the vintage clip art.

Here's a closer look at the floral clusters. The Manor House Creations Flowers in pink and purple are unaltered. The smaller yellow, pink, blue and turquoise roses are the Manor House Creations Teeny Weenie flowers that I colored with Dylusions Ink Spray.

I embellished the white lattice pieces with Manor House Creations Flowers, vine die-cuts, and a triple loop bow. Each intersecting piece of lattice is adorned with a piece of Molossi Sticky Bling.

I had a lot of fun embellishing the top piece of this carousel! This carousel is very strong and I could have piled on a lot more weight without effecting the rotational capability of this piece. I laid down a nice blanket of artificial grass and topped that with eggs, flowers, bows and a resin bunny holding a basket of carrots.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'm proudly displaying this piece in my home until Easter, when it will be the highlight of my brunch centerpiece!

LIFE'S JOURNEY DISPLAY FRAME BY DANA

Hi Molossi fans! Dana Tatar here with you today sharing an altered 12x12 Display Frame. This piece was quick and easy to put together and a fun way to display some of the photos from my wedding! The colors for my wedding were black and white, but my bridesmaids carried bouquets of bold tropical flowers. The brightly colored Manor House Creations Flowers and Dylusions Ink Spray I used to alter this frame really take me back to my special day a little over 10 years ago. I topped this frame with a beautifully designed piece of Molossi Chipboard.

I used a paintbrush and Dylusions Cherry Pie Ink Spray to color the the top layer of the Display Frame.

Once the frame was dry, I attached several photos to the back of the frame.

I covered the back of the frame with Kaisercraft patterned paper that complemented the flowers and leaves I planned to add as embellishments. My largest photos were slightly smaller than the opening in the frame, so I covered the empty space by wrapping a piece of ribbon around the frame.

I colored white leaves with Cut Grass and Fresh Lime Dylusions Ink Spray.
