DUSTY ATTIC CIGAR BOX ALTERED

Hi Marelle here!

I have been creating  lots of fun goodies from the Molossi online shop!

Here are the photos of my creation and a little bit about how I created it.

First I painted the bare Dusty Attic cigar box with gesso, allowed that to dry and then coated with my favourite Derivan Black Paint (It covers so well and because I use it so much the lovely Suzanne from Molossi sent me a 2 litre bottle of it!!)
I applied two coats of the Derivan Black paint and let dry overnight.

Next I painted a Manorhouse white ornate frame with (yes you guessed it) Derivan Black paint, dried with my heat gun.  I cut an oval from old book paper and covered this with Mod Podge and allowed it to dry.   When it was dry, I attached the Black ornate frame over the top of the oval book paper plate and adhered the embellishment to the centre.  Next I adhered some Flourish with a bling copper coloured pearls down each side of the lid.
Then I attached a gorgeous Manorhouse Peacock Flower inside the lid with a hand written tag (as this is a present for an artsy poet friend of mine).

Next I cut a piece of book paper the same size as the bottom of the box and adhered to the bottom of the box, and embellished it with Manorhouse silver and black flower embellishments.
I then covered the base with Mod Podge to seal it.

There a couple of black marks that have shown through after i sealed it, but as i wanted it to appear old, I thought these marks added to the whole antique "look".

I wiped a small amount of Rub n Buff in gold on top of the box and around the outside randomly.
My friend adored the box and has it sitting on her piano !

Inside the lid I attached a Peacock Feather from Manorhouse

MAD HATTER

Good Morning Rikki here today to share with you something Easter inspired. Today marks the last day of the school term here in Western Australia, and yesterday my boys school had an Easter hat parade. So I thought I would share with you one of my creations.

I am a huge fan of paper mache' I believe you can create anything with it and its perfect for creating Easter Hats.

To create the texture , I just applied Derivan Paints Gel Medium and made the look of bark, then allowed it to dry and then add paint over the top because I didn't want it to be shiny.

The Manorhouse Shades of Blue where just the right size and scale for the log, and just by scattering a few around its doesn't become too girly for a boys hat.

SHADES - Sky Blue

Gel Medium 250ml

Cant forget the perfect finishing touch with Jenni B Feathered Butterfly.....

Butterfly Feather 4cm Turquoise

So I hope that has inspired you all today, till next week hope you have a great creative weekend.

AMAZING INSPIRATION WITH MOLOSSI AND THE SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW DT

Hi, Cathi here again!! Today I want to share two cards made by the Sugar Creek Hollow Vintage Challenge Design Team. Molossi generously sponsored the team with a Darkroom Door stamp, Manor House flowers and their gorgeous chipboards. The team has outdone themselves!!

Amelia Breytenbach has created this beautiful pink card using the Darkroom Door Butterfly Garden Stamp, a pink Ballerina flower from ManorHouse Creations and the Molossi Fleur de Lis chipboard. I love how she stamped the butterflies again and made them three dimensional!

Cec Wintonyk has this gorgeous golden card here using the beautiful Darkroom Door with a gorgeous ivory ManorHouse Creations Ballerina flower. Molossi lock and key chipboards were used to accent the card, love all the layers and textures that she has added to this card!!

HOP HOP HOPPY EASTER

Hello everyone,

No sooner have we recovered from Christmas & school holidays, and Easter is just around the corner.
What will you all be doing to celebrate with your family?
We will be lucky enough to have my husband's parents visit for a week or so.  Our kids love having them visit us, as they only get to see them once or twice a year, so you can imagine how excited they are at the thought of them coming!!  We will also be spending our Good Friday supporting the Royal Children's Hospital here in Melbourne, by attending the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at the Werribee Mansion.  This is always an awesome day, supporting a fantastic cause.

So I'm here today to share with you, two Easter cards I've made.

The first card is a Magnolia stamp, that I've coloured with Copic Markers.
I've stamped on Blending Card, with Memento Ink.
The roses are Molossi paper roses (white), and I've coloured this with Copic Markers also, to match the image.  The base cardstock is Violet & Lavender, and embellished with Flourish with A Bling Silver Rhinestones "Elise".

The second card is also a Magnolia stamp, again coloured with
Copic Markers.  I've stamped on Blending Card with Memento Ink.

The paper roses have again been coloured with Copic Markers to match the papers.  The punched edge is a Martha Stewart punch, and the ribbon & patterned papers (on the card above), are from my scrap stash.

The butterfly is an embossed foil sticker from Molossi, and I've raised the image using Paper Xtra 3D foam dot adhesives.
Don't forget Molossi also have all your adhesive needs, like
XPress It Tape and 450 Glue.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all have a beautiful Easter xo

JUST TAKING A MINUTE

Good Morning, Rikki here today with a quick share...

Its getting to be the mad end of the school term... touch Rugby .... Assembly items .... Swimming lessons .... Easter Hat parade !!!! Which then means Easter will be upon us sooner than we know with school holidays arrrghhhh!

While I get over my panic attack, why don't you look over my latest creation, something for the boys.

With any range of paper they are always journal cards sometimes its hard to figure out how to work them into a layout, why don't you cut them into banners..... all the banners you see here are journal cards.

The love heart was a perfect title but it was in a square journal card, and with a quick cut it became the perfect title, with the left over part being added as a tab. This is also where the Zoom part came from too.

I love the Flourish with a Bling Chloe Pearl Flourish, they are really easy to cut up and create the perfect finishing touch on your layout or you can just keep them as is.

Thanks for looking stay turned next week to see something special for Easter, maybe it will give you some ideas for those lucky parents that have to help make Easter Hats.

SPECIAL TIMES

Hello everyone,

It's been a great couple of days here for crafting, the sun is hiding, and I'm here to share with you my latest card.

I've made this card using Kaisercraft's Base Coat range, which I love working with.  This card could be used for any number of occasions.
The base of the card is made from brown cardstock, and cut into a fancy fold card.  This was fun to make, and very easy.
I've embellished the card using Flourish with A Bling, Green Tara Paper String and Butterfly Critters.
I've also highlighted the bricks in the paper, by cutting out individual bricks, distressing the edges, and foam mounting them on the front of the card.

The star of this card is the gorgeous flower from Manorhouse
that I have highlighted the centre with "Ice Blue" Stickles, and the sentiment is a Paper Xtra rub-on.
Thanks for stopping by,
Honor x
